{"id":401,"date":"2011-12-08T23:57:58","date_gmt":"2011-12-08T21:57:58","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.ceh-photo.de\/blog\/?p=401"},"modified":"2012-07-01T12:35:03","modified_gmt":"2012-07-01T10:35:03","slug":"android-x86-honeycomb-3-2-for-acer1825-series","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.ceh-photo.de\/blog\/?p=401","title":{"rendered":"Android-x86 Honeycomb 3.2 for Acer1825 series"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>[Beta 2 available: <a href=\"http:\/\/www.ceh-photo.de\/blog\/?p=417\">http:\/\/www.ceh-photo.de\/blog\/?p=417<\/a>]<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>So its long time ago that I wrote \u00a0something about Android-x86 and my Acer1825 but now I could tell, that I was not lazy in between.<\/p>\n<p>I was working on builds based on the former work for froyo-x86 of arobase (we are still in contact, but he does not own the Acer1825 anymore).<\/p>\n<p>For a while I was working on a gingerbread-x86 build for the Acer, which is also running quite well but has still problems with sound &#8211;&gt; only sound on headphones (if someone is interested in a build I could also provide one &#8211;&gt; let me know).<\/p>\n<p>My newer honeycomb port do not have this problems and runs quite well all in all with some restrictions (see below).<\/p>\n<p>The build is for the same devices like the old <a href=\"http:\/\/www.ceh-photo.de\/blog\/?p=293\">froyo builds <\/a>from arobase, but only tested on my Acer1825, if someone could provide test results for a device of the 1820,1420 or 1425 series or of some Packard\u00a0Bell clone I would be glad to know about.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Honeycomb-x86 for Acer1825 with:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>graphics acceleration<\/li>\n<li>multi-touch<\/li>\n<li>high volume sound (difference to old froyo release)<\/li>\n<li>auto-rotation with accelerometer <del>(not for 180\u00b0 because Android stock do not have this feature) <\/del>&#8211;&gt;that was wrong information: its working in all directions and also stock android since honeycomb supports this feature<\/li>\n<li>wifi<\/li>\n<li>battery status<\/li>\n<li>integrated google apps<\/li>\n<li>SD-Card<\/li>\n<li>additional file manager<\/li>\n<li>suspend with tricky resume* (because of old kernel from gingerbread, with newer honeycomb kernel you loose touch after resume)<\/li>\n<li>hard-disk installation tested on ext2 partition<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<div>* you need to hold the keys for home or &#8230; quite a long time to resume but it is possible<\/div>\n<div><strong>without\/not working:<\/strong><\/div>\n<div>\n<ul>\n<li>ethernet (not support on stock android-x86 at the moment)<\/li>\n<li>camera<\/li>\n<li>google books app is buggy&#8230; don&#8217;t know<\/li>\n<li>changeable keyboard layout on terminal<\/li>\n<li>screen timeout&#8221; never&#8221; crashes settings app<\/li>\n<li>P-button forces reboot<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<div>So let me know how it is working on your devices!
